Waarom? Misschien wel vooral omdat sommige onderwerpen makkelijker door een buitenstaander kunnen worden besproken dan door een Chinees.<\/p>\n<p>Seksualiteit en seksuele opvoeding voor tieners, daar wordt door de meeste Chinese ouders nog heel omzichtig over gesproken. Dat de behoefte aan informatie er bij jongeren is, blijkt wel uit de <a href=\"http:\/\/i.youku.com\/u\/UMTAwODc2OTQ4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drie animatiefilmpjes<\/a> die de afgelopen tijd <em>viral<\/em> rondgingen op Chinese sociale media.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kickboksen<\/strong><br \/>\nDe Nederlandse Arnaud van der Veere (\u963f\u8bfa\u8303\u5fb7\u7ef4\u5c14) werkt aan een boek over seksuele opvoeding voor de Chinese markt, in samenwerking met de China Publishing Group. Maar voor hem begon het, vreemd genoeg, met Muay Thai, een vorm van kickboksen.<\/p>\n<p>Van der Veere nam in de jaren \u201970 en \u201980 deel aan Muay Thai wedstrijden in heel Azi\u00eb. Hij reisde van Thailand naar Taiwan en van Vietnam naar China. Terug in Europa begon hij een sportschool. Daar combineerde hij de sport met therapie om mensen weerbaarder te maken en daarbij richtte hij zich vooral op jongeren.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinacircle.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Addiction.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-637\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinacircle.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Addiction-213x300.jpg\" alt=\"Addiction\" width=\"213\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><strong>Probleemjongeren<\/strong><br \/>\nNa een studie biochemie in Delft verdiepte hij zich in drugs en stimulerende middelen. Gebruikmakend van zijn kennis over verslaving, jongeren en vechtsport, adviseerde hij de Nederlandse overheid op het gebied van probleemjongeren. Zelfverdediging en lichamelijke gezondheid koppelde hij aan preventie, een vernieuwende aanpak. Hij schreef boeken over verslaving en slapeloosheid.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese uitgevers bleken ge\u00efnteresseerd in zijn boeken, vooral omdat hij onderwerpen aansneed waar in China niet makkelijk over gesproken wordt. Zijn boeken werden vertaald in het Chinees. Zijn boek over verslaving (\u8fdc\u79bb\u6210\u763e\u75c7\uff0c zie de omslag hiernaast) werd uitgedeeld op verschillende universiteiten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Waar praat je niet over?<\/strong><br \/>\nVan der Veere is ook ge\u00efnteresseerd in waar weinig of helemaal niet over gesproken wordt. Al meer dan dertig jaar observeert hij de verschillen in communicatie tussen Azi\u00eb en Europa, ook de non-verbale communicatie tussen mensen waar in China weinig aandacht aan wordt besteed. Dat leidde tot een boek over lichaamstaal (\u8eab\u4f53\u8bed\u8a00\uff0c<em>body language<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Verlegenheid voerde de boventoon in gesprekken die hij had met moderne Chinese vrouwen over relaties, huwelijk, liefde en seks. Dat mondde uit in een boek over de positie van alleenstaande, getrouwde en gescheiden 30+ vrouwen (\u8d70\u51fa\u5a5a\u604b\u56f0\u6270). Recent schreef hij de boeken Girl power en Boy power, over hoe gecompliceerd het is voor zowel meisjes als jongens om op te groeien in China als enig kind. Zonder broertjes of zusjes waarmee je kan praten of die als voorbeeld kunnen dienen als het gaat over opgroeien, lichamelijke veranderingen tijdens de puberteit en verliefdheden.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinacircle.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/arnaudvdveere.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-647\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinacircle.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/arnaudvdveere-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"arnaudvdveere\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" \/><\/a><strong>Informatie maakt weerbaar<\/strong><br \/>\nEn nu werkt hij dus aan een boek over seksualiteit en seksuele educatie. Met veel feitelijke informatie over de lichamelijke ontwikkeling van tieners, maar ook over gevoelens en dilemma\u2019s waar jongeren mee kampen.<\/p>\n<p>Want goede informatie maakt mensen weerbaar.
